What to do if Jinn or Shayateen steal money or belongings!

Is it possible for money or belongings to go missing from home due to the influence of jinn?
The answer is – Yes, it’s possible. Jinn can move light or heavy objects from one place to another, they can steal things, and this is a common occurrence. Authentic Hadith and the Quran provide indications of this.
However, one should not immediately blame the jinn when something goes missing. First, thoroughly search the surroundings and strengthen external security or precautions. If it continues to happen regularly, then one might consider other reasons.
Another issue is that many people visit fortune-tellers or healers when money or belongings go missing and ask them where the items are. This is something that should never be done. Believing in the words of those who practice magic or astrology can damage one’s faith, and there is a very clear warning in the Hadith about this.

When does this type of incident usually occur?
- If a house is troubled by jinn and they disturb the residents in various ways, belongings may go missing or appear in unusual places.
- If someone has long-standing problems related to jinn or magic, the jinn may cause harm by stealing in such cases.
- In some cases, belongings of a person affected by magic may be stolen by jinn and used by a sorcerer to cause further harm or attempts at harm.
- Even without any prior history, one or two isolated incidents of theft by jinn can occur. However, this is rare.

What should we do?
- Regularly recite the morning and evening dhikr (remembrances) and before going to sleep. Do not neglect this. Recite the prayers for entering and exiting the house.
- When placing money or important items, say “Bismillah” before doing so. Also, say “Bismillah” when closing a drawer or cupboard.
- If there are any images, talismans, or idols in the house, remove them. Destroy anything suspicious following the proper method to nullify magic. Maintain an Islamic environment in the home.
- Follow the steps mentioned in the article “What to do if your house has jinn problems,” doing each step for three days. You can do multiple steps at once if needed.
- Regularly give zakat. Additionally, donate a portion of whatever income you earn with the intention of receiving blessings.
- Also, recite the supplication that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us to say when something is lost or in times of hardship.
The supplication is:
{إِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ – اَللّٰهُمَّ أْجُرْنِيْ فِيْ مُصِيْبَتِيْ وَأَخْلِفْ لِيْ خَيْرًا مِنْهَا}
Translation: “Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him, we will return. O Allah, reward me in my calamity and replace it with something better for me.”
