Is it a problem of jinn and magic, or natural?

It can sometimes be difficult to understand which problems are unrelated to Ruqyah (spiritual healing). Especially when you consider the hadiths related to the evil eye. You might then ask yourself if this situation could be caused by the evil eye.

Let’s say someone writes, “I have a headache. Please give me advice.” There could be many reasons for a headache—various types of causes. It could be due to the evil eye, jinn, or a medical problem. If it’s not a medical issue, then Ruqyah should be performed. Even if it is a medical issue, doing Ruqyah won’t hurt; in fact, it could be beneficial. No one says that performing Ruqyah means you can’t see a doctor. So, what’s the problem with doing Ruqyah? If after 1-2 weeks of Ruqyah nothing is understood, then you can proceed with medical or other treatments.

Someone wrote, “I sneeze a lot when I wake up in the morning. What’s the advice?” This clearly seems to be cold-related allergies, not related to the evil eye, jinn, or magic. Even here, you can perform Ruqyah with Surah Al-Fatiha. If someone does Ruqyah for allergies, how does it harm them? In Surah Al-Isra, verse 82, the Qur’an is referred to as a healing for all. This healing is not exclusive to the evil eye, jinn, or magic but applies to all diseases.

If we speak about non-disease-related issues, we have to bring up the hadiths about the evil eye again. The evil eye can send a camel to the pot and a person to the grave. If anything could surpass fate, it would be the evil eye. When we consider these hadiths, it’s clear that the evil eye plays a significant role in making human life unbearable.

Problems like lack of sustenance, not being able to get married, or family discord may have many external reasons, but it’s not uncommon for the evil eye, jinn, or magic to be involved. There’s hardly any vice—whether it’s usury, bribery, governance issues, shamelessness, indecency, deformity, or perversion—that isn’t happening in this era. So, being affected by the evil eye, jinn, or magic isn’t that far-fetched.

What basis do those who claim that Ruqyah is suggested for every problem have? And what’s the issue with suggesting Ruqyah?

These questions arise due to posts like “My daughter isn’t getting married” or “There’s no peace in my household.” Or posts like “My son isn’t getting a job.” Is it fair to decide without Ruqyah that the evil eye, jinn, or magic isn’t involved after just reading an online post?

So does everyone have jinn or magic issues?

This question can be answered in two parts. Is everyone affected by jinn or magic? – No, not everyone is affected by jinn or magic. The group has 850,000 members, and not all of them are affected. So, not everyone has issues with jinn or magic. – Even if everyone did have jinn or magic issues, it’s not a problem. These are illnesses, and anyone can fall ill.

And if it’s not an illness, doing Ruqyah doesn’t hurt. There are no side effects. At least you’ll know the problem isn’t related to Ruqyah.

Often, when someone posts, I comment and ask, “Is this a Ruqyah-related issue? I can’t understand.” “Is this something related to Ruqyah? Why do you think it’s connected to the evil eye, jinn, or magic?”

Some people take these comments negatively. They think I’m trolling or making fun of them. I can’t understand what there is to make fun of. Some take it normally and explain the issue in detail. What wasn’t clear in the two-line post becomes clear then.

The fact that I ask these questions isn’t random. I ask with understanding. I could just delete the post, labeling it irrelevant. No one could question me. But I don’t. After someone has waited so long for approval, I ask a couple of questions. Maybe the person is really in trouble but just didn’t express it well.

Sometimes I feel like commenting on some women’s posts: “You’re blaming your husband and mother-in-law! After reading your post, I’m thinking, how did they even tolerate you? You’re the root of the problem! Why are you blaming others?” – But I don’t do that. I try to say something good, suggest some prayers or Ruqyah. Maybe the effects of these good deeds will help her realize her own mistakes.
